Alcohol Ink Artworks

Welcome to the colourful, ever-shifting world of alcohol inks. For me, this medium feels alive — bold, unpredictable, and endlessly inspiring. I was drawn to it because of the way it transforms simple moments of play into rich, flowing landscapes of colour and light.

I create each piece on Yupo or other high-quality synthetic papers, chosen because they let the inks move freely across the surface. Sometimes I guide the flow, sometimes I simply watch as the colours mingle and surprise me, creating shapes and patterns I could never have planned. That’s the real magic of alcohol inks — they invite both artist and viewer into a space of discovery.

Every painting is a little adventure. Some burst with vibrant energy, while others whisper in soft, delicate layers. No two can ever be the same, and that’s what I love most: each one carries its own personality, its own story, waiting to connect with someone who sees a piece of themselves reflected in the colours.

Abstract Artworks

Abstract painting, for me, is a way of moving beyond what is seen and stepping into the language of colour, texture, and emotion. Using acrylics and mixed media, I build my work in layers — sometimes with careful intention, sometimes by simply letting the materials guide me. This process creates depth and tactility, encouraging you to linger, to notice new details each time you look.

Much of my inspiration comes from the natural world: shifting skies, water in motion, the slow transformation of landscapes. These influences filter into my work in subtle ways, shaping compositions that feel both familiar and dreamlike.

What I love most about abstraction is that it leaves space for discovery. Each painting begins as my expression, but it becomes complete when you bring your own story, emotion, or memory to it. That personal connection is what keeps the work alive.

About Me

Hello and welcome! My name is Lulu. I’m originally from Indonesia, and I now live in the UK with my wonderful family. Painting has always been more than just a passion for me — it is a way of expressing emotion, energy, and imagination in ways words often cannot. I am drawn to abstract and contemporary art because of the freedom it offers. There are no boundaries, no strict rules — just colours, textures, and movement that flow together to form something new. I work primarily with acrylics, alcohol inks, texture, and mixed media, and I love experimenting with different techniques to bring depth and life to my pieces.

For me, creating art is a joyful and meditative process. I can spend hours in my studio immersed in colours, layering paint, and exploring new ideas. Sometimes I follow a clear vision, and other times the painting takes me somewhere unexpected — and I embrace that journey. I am never afraid to change direction, paint over, or start again, because each step brings me closer to a piece that truly resonates with me.

Much of my inspiration comes from nature and its many elements — the movement of water, the strength of the earth, the softness of clouds, the shifting seasons. Nature is both powerful and delicate, and I try to capture that balance in my work. I want my paintings to reflect not only what I see, but also the emotions that nature stirs within me: calmness, wonder, freedom, and connection.

Through my art, I hope to share those feelings with others. I want people who view my work to find something personal within it — a moment of reflection, a sense of peace, or even just a spark of curiosity. Art is a universal language, and I believe it has the power to connect us beyond words.
